Advertisement Problems

Well today for the first time my team went for advertisements. Shail was the one who went to C.G .Road to collect advertisements. We decided to target only Tours and Travel operators first as they can get huge advantage by advertising in our magazine with CDROM. But when I called Shail, he said he got very negative responce from Thomas Cook Travels and other travel agencies were also not keen. They have told Shail to come later. So lets see what happens. Now I will also go to collect advertisements. I am little bit worried now. As I have already postponed the magazine for quite a long time and if I cannot get advertisements, I suspect, I have to Derail the whole plan for atleast one more month.

Any way the content for the magazine is quite ready. There are few changes remaining and small news are yet to be found, I am quite satisfied with the work has been done till now. Now the designing of the magazine begins. I want to design it totally different. There should be more InfoGRaphics than only text articles. And when I finish this, I will have to go to Mumbai to talk with distributors. So I want everything to be perfect.

Magazine launch delayed

My magazine which was going to be launched in July will now be launched in August, 2005.

The magazine is officially registered as TALK N CAFE with RNI office , New Delhi. Magazine targets readers from elite and higher medium class who are lookin for analysis of news that they hear and watch everyday. This magazine will provide a deep analysis of such issues.

magazine is priced at Rs. 60/- with CD edition. The CD will contain music given by upcoming artists and some documentries. The CD will also have other stuff also. If you know some one who is good at music or singing and does want to launch his/her music album than u can contact me.

First official meeting of team members for magazine

After officially meeting first time with most of the members of my magazine "Talk n Cafe" we decided to try our best to launch the magazine in June eventhough i am having my external exams in june.so i have to go to mumbai in mid may to meet distributors.

you know starting a magazine and even when u r s student of an engineering college from 7 to 7 is a very tough job. After one year now i am able to publish my magazine! it is now registered with SDM office of Ahmedabad and to Registrars of newspapers of india, ministry of information and broadcasting, GOI, new delhi. but it took 6 months to registered. this government process is taking toll of young enterprenuers in india. i wonder if magazine registration can take 6 months that how long would it take to install a factory of chemical??? now i got why china has got more FDI than india...

but today i received first supply of visiting cards of my company "RAVI KAMDAR MEDIA SERVICES" and it is good to see them. u wont beileve i just stared at visiting cards for log time. it was gr8 pleasure to see them. but eventhough i m the owner of the company i havent made my cards becos i dnt hav enough money! so i just made cards for Dr. Intaj Malek who is editor in chief for the Talk n' cafe which is necessary.

i have no experience, no money, no proper team , no proper contacts, and a totally different field but than i also wonder why i m so determined to publish a magazine?? I mean i m a computer engineering student and if i focus only on my studies than i can get good marks , make my parents happy and proud and get some good job.......but no! i m doin this tougher job.. I must thank my all frnds who are hearing this magazine...magazine for so long time and still they are supporting me....but now i this is no child's play as with having national distribution system....running an english monthly magazine is not a child's job...40/- per copy with C. D many of my frnds have doubts of this prize range. They beleive it is very high.

but when we look at other monthly english magazines, prize range is 30-50 without CD so mine is a good package. Lets see wht happens. I m waiting 4 designers to come back from their visit so that i can make my website and magazine template ready.

First issue would have coverstory of "What is VAT?" Can anyone give me a good one liner to put on cover of my magazine for VAT so that people who read just cover page find it attractive and buy it??
